This quote from Ross Poldark in the TV series Poldark speaks to a truth that has resonated with people throughout the ages: when faced with betrayal from those we trust or rely upon, how can we continue to show loyalty? It's a difficult situation for anyone to be in, but it's important to remember that our loyalties should lie in what we believe is right, and not necessarily to people or places. This can be especially hard when faced with betrayal, but it's ultimately the only option if we want to remain true to ourselves.
We know the pain of betrayal and the frustration of being set adrift without any means to navigate the treacherous waters. We know how it feels to be abandoned by someone you trusted.
For far too long, we have abdicated our independence and right to self-determination and defaulted to those who professed to know more than we do.
The days of allowing someone, who does not even know us, to dictate what is best for us are over.
No longer will we concede to hopeless defeat in our own country. We are here to take back our government and make our elected representatives and leaders work for the people they should serve.
Too often, government employees and the justice system injure and betray the very people who rely upon them for fairness, humanity, and protection.
As Ross Poldark said, "When your own country betrays you, to whom do you owe loyalty?"
It is difficult to imagine a more devastating betrayal than when an innocent person is sentenced to imprisonment, torture, or death.
Benjamin Franklin stated the nestled principle within the heart of mankind: "it is better that 100 guilty persons should escape than one innocent person should suffer." This doctrine is ascribed to William Blackstone who pronounced in 1769 that “the law holds that it is better that 10 guilty persons escape, than that 1 innocent suffer (innocent person be convicted).”
The abandonment one experiences when they are betrayed by the very essence of a misplaced patriotism, faith, or conviction can destroy a person and inextricably alter their existence.
It can shake them to their core and set them adrift on a vast ocean of loneliness and depression.
One chance encounter, one moment of indiscretion, or one brief second of inattention can lead to a devastating loss of life or irretrievable change the direction of a life well-planned.
If we can save anyone from that treacherous feeling of abandonment by their own country in their time of deepest need, then we will have met our call to duty.
We remain committed and loyal to our community. We make social, political, and historical education accessible to everyone. We bring you accurate news and reports of events that shape our world and impact our lives.
No one should be deprived of their fundamental right to live free and prosper. Ignorance or lack of awareness, and sometime deliberate programming and brainwashing can cause people to act against their own best interests.
To live free from despair, depression, devastation, and destruction, we must arm ourselves with the truth and vote wisely. Then, we must diligently stay on top of things to hold our elected officials accountable and answerable to the people who elected them.
By speaking our truth against endless exploitation by poorly trained and unsupervised law enforcement personnel, greedy, heartless, and egotistical attorneys, and pompous, abusive judges, we are helping people take back the power stolen from them.
By shining light on political corruption and relating current events to historical events, we can learn from past mistakes and not repeat them.
By monitoring global trends and social movements in other countries, we can prepare for those same forces working against the people here.
By shining light into darkness, we are exposing the corruption that creeps into all three branches of government and rots our government and court system from within.
Until the people can demand that Congress overturn the extremist case of Citizens United, which has allowed dark money to flood into our political campaigns, we are in danger of foreign influence, interference, and infiltration.
Dark money not only funds the extremist PACs, it insidiously creeps into and corrupts corporations, elected officials, the Supreme Court, and various organizations bent on destroying the American dream.
If you are not living a life of prosperity, if you are not in pursuit of your happiness, and if you have no liberty or property to protect, then it comes down to electing the wrong person.
We cannot look away when the vote is wrong or the Supreme Court slaps down another right or protection.
Together, united, it is much more difficult for the government to take away our rights, tax us into poverty, while giving more tax cuts, write-offs, and loopholes to the wealthy and their myriad corporations.
We must not sit by and watch as they rig things to steal our wealth...the wealth that our labor created.
You deserve more. You deserve better. We are here for you.
You have more power than you know - we aim to prove it.
Your success is our aspiration.
We do our best to make sure that Americans are armed with knowledge, show up to vote, and vote for the right people who run on a political platform to help middle class people.
We vet candidates and study their entire life to ensure they walk the talk. We have had enough of con artists, liars, and cheats.
Just because a candidate says he is a patriot, does not mean he is.
Just because a politician says he is religious does not mean he is.
Just because a man says he is loyal does not mean he is.
Choose your leader wisely.
Celestine is the Lawyer in the Sky. She dedicated her life to helping others. The vast majority could not afford legal representation, so she worked for free or at a drastically reduced rate. After 30 years of serving others in the practice of law and never having any client file a grievance against her, she was abandoned by the corrupt system she had dedicated her life to and betrayed by her own country.
She had known since her first year in law school that the system was corrupt because she looked around the room in her first class and knew she could not trust the majority of these people with a traffic ticket, let alone someone's life.
She was in the best law school in the South and no one checked any of these people for honesty or ethics. It was all about grades and their score on the SAT exam.
If she could not trust them, then how can you?
Celestine is currently working on a book about the corruption of the legal system. In this book she will show when this nation was formed the people did not trust the legal system, the barristers, or the judges for good reason.
The Constitution was written so the judicial branch would be the weakest of the three branches and the most restricted in jurisdiction. Yet, the corruption has resulted from various dark triad justices clawing back sovereignty from the people and placing that protection around themselves in ways the founders never stated or intended.
Then, the Supreme Court started creating different forms of immunity and handed it out to others as if they were Santa Clause handing out candy to little children.
The founders knew how to grant immunity if they wanted to because they provided limited immunity to Congress when it was in session. The Constitution granted NO immunity to the judiciary or the executive branch for good reason.
The people wanted the government directly accountable to them. The people have never amended the Constitution and placed justices above the law. Nor do they have the delegated power and authority to place anyone else above the law.
Any such unconstitutional acts of over-reach and abuse of power are null and void ab initio. That means they have no legal effect from their inception.
The Supreme Court cannot take what the people did not give and the Supreme Court cannot give what it does not have.
Celestine's book will delve into what Shakespeare really meant when he wrote the lines for Dick the Butcher in Act IV, Scene II of Henry VI: ”The first thing we do is, let’s kill all the lawyers.”
Knowing all that she knew, nothing prepared her for the underbelly of our legal system. One day she will write a book about the pure evil she discovered within the bowels of our "justice" system.
To quote Shakespeare again, "The evil that men do lives after them. The good is oft interred with their bones." But the evil they wrought lives on. Those words were spoken by Marc Antony in Julius Caesar.
It is the evil that men rot that lives on after them.
We must get this nation back on track and it comes from legal scholars speaking the truth and historians keeping them honest when it comes to an interpretation of the Constitution.
Thank you for visiting the Lawyer in the Sky. We look forward to meeting you!
